FAQ

Q.

When is Mediation the best process to choose?

A.

Mediation is best:

● For couples that need help coming to an agreement, but do not want individual attorney representation.

●  For Spouses with balanced negotiation styles.

● For couples who would like to build a holistic support team.

●  For couples who would like a resolution based on their own sense of fairness, rather than a traditional legal resolution.

Mediation

In Mediation, neutral negotiators work with both you and your spouse to reach an amicable resolution.  Meetings take place in a  safe and comfortable environment.

At the Divorce Shoppe, we help you and your spouse custom design the support system you need by building your own mediation team.

The basic team starts with the clients and a Mediator who holds a law degree.  The Mediator guides the mediation process in an impartial manner, acts as an educator on legal issues, and helps clients brainstorm possible solutions.

If financial questions are at issue, a neutral Financial Analysts can be included on the team.  Independent Experts, such as an appraiser, actuary or a pension attorney are jointly consulted.

Many teams also include mental health practitioners working as Client Coaches, Kids Coaches, Parenting Coaches or Child Specialists.  These professionals assure that each family member's personal and emotional needs are being addressed in combination with their legal needs.

Together, you and your spouse, will make the choices for your and your children's futures.  Mediation allows you to control the outcome directly, without lawyers or judges.
